THE TERMINAL

Change your blackboard into a "departures and arrivals" schedule like one might see at an airport.  Briefly explain time zones to students, offer a map of the United States and/or North America and ask them to determine the actual durations of the flights accounting for time changes.  Then, mix it up, giving them the departure plus the flight duration and asking them to compute the exact time of arrival.  Consult your favorite airline's website for examples.
